About the event
Students, join us for an incredible opportunity this Spring to develop your technique, explore artistry and make new friends.
Open to all students aged between 12 and 16, studying at least Grade 5 (or equivalent). You don't need to be a bbodance member to sign up - it's open to all aspiring young dancers!
Classes will run 10am - 4pm each day and across the week dancers can expect:

Learning repertoire
Pilates
Pointe Work*
*If already studying Pointe Work with their regular teacher
Each Ballet class will also be accompanied by a live pianist and will take place in the Espinosa studio.
We have a fantastic selection of faculty on board with many years of experience teaching at top vocational schools.

Owen Morris (teaching on Tuesday)
Born and raised in Cornwall, Owen began his dance training with former professional dancers Nicola Brice and Terence Etheridge, continuing his studies at Totnes School of Dance in Devon. He completed a pre-vocational Performing Arts programme with Kennicott Sixth Form, achieving A-Levels alongside his dance training, before joining Ballet West in Scotland, touring across the country with the Ballet West Touring Company. His early performance experience includes appearances with the National Youth Ballet of Great Britain, Duchy Ballet, and Cornwall Youth Dance Company.
Owen has performed internationally as a Company Soloist with the State Opera Varna Ballet Company in Bulgaria and as a Corps de Ballet Artist with the Cape Town City Ballet in South Africa. His soloist repertoire includes Giselle (Hilarion, Wilfred, Peasant Pas de Deux), The Nutcracker (Flowers Cavalier, Russian Dance, Arabian Pas de Deux, Soldier Doll, Rat King), The Sleeping Beauty (Bluebird Pas de Deux, Puss in Boots), Swan Lake (Spanish Dance), Romeo & Juliet (Tybalt), Don Quixote (Matador), La Bayadère (Drum Dance), and Le Corsaire Pas de Deux. He has also performed extensively in the corps de ballet across a broad range of classical and neoclassical repertoire.
His theatre, film, and opera credits include appearing as a featured dancer in Disney’s The Nutcracker and the Four Realms (choreography by Liam Scarlett), White Oak (featured at the Beijing International Film Festival), and as a featured dancer for Channel 4. He has danced in productions at the Royal Opera House, Glyndebourne Summer Festival, and the Royal Albert Hall, and performed as an ensemble member in State Opera Varna’s musical theatre productions. International and touring engagements include Leila – The Land of Imagination for Balich Worldwide Shows in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia; originating the role of Tom in the UK tour of Tom’s Midnight Garden (choreographed by Gareth Mole and Frances Livesey, inspired by Philippa Pearce’s novel); and performing in Jamiel Laurence Productions’ The Nutcracker at the Cardiff Christmas Festival.
Alongside his performing career, Owen is an accomplished dance educator teaching at leading UK and international ballet, contemporary, and musical theatre institutions as a Ballet Teacher and Pilates Teacher. He has taught for Elmhurst Ballet School, Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance, English National Ballet School, ArtsEd, Laine Theatre Arts, Millennium Performing Arts, Grad Pro, CATS Programme at Swindon Dance, City Academy Professional Dancers Course, Pineapple Dance Studio, Danceworks, Central School of Ballet, Royal Academy of Dance, BBO Dance, London Vocational Ballet School, Cecchetti Ballet Associates, City Academy Adult Ballet Courses, Chelmsford Ballet Company, Mandy Dance Academy in Malta, English Ballet School – Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz in Germany, Bodyworks West Health Club, Willesden Sports Centre, Totnes School of Dance, Elite Ballet Project, and Buckingham Dance Studios. Owen holds a Level 5 Diploma in Dance Teaching with Distinction (BBO Dance), a Level 6 BA (Hons) Degree from Northumbria University, a Pilates Teaching Diploma, Progressive Ballet Technique Certification, and RAD Advanced 2 Ballet (ARAD). His continued professional development includes training through The Royal Ballet School and participation in the Kerry Nicholls Artist Mentoring Programme. He also holds up-to-date Safeguarding, Prevent, and First Aid certifications, alongside full Public Liability coverage.
In addition to his work in dance, Owen is the published author of Some People Come in Pairs and Other Musings (written in 2020 and published in 2022). Musically trained, he is proficient in music theory and sight-reading and is an accomplished violinist.
Arnaud Dreyfus (teaching on Wednesday and Thursday morning)
Arnaud Dreyfus started dancing at age 10 in 1982 in Mulhouse, Alsace. In 1983, he succeeded the entrance examination of the Paris Opera Ballet School where he was selected by Melle Claude Bessy. He studied during the entire 6 years of schooling at this prestigious school.
At the age of 16, Maurice Béjart entrusted him with the title role of Firebird during the television show, dedicated to the work of the great choreographer. That same year, he dances for the first time the role of James in Auguste Bournonville's La Sylphide, with his partner Aurélie Dupont, who, following her prestigious career as an étoile, became the Directrice de la Danse of the Paris Opera Ballet. In 1989, Dreyfus and Dupont were the youngest of their respective promotions hired in the corps de ballet.
During his 25-year career at the POB, Dreyfus performed the great classical repertoire after Marius Petipa but also had the opportunity to work with many choreographers including Jérôme Robbins, Roland Petit, John Neumeier and Mats Ek.
At the age of 20, his illustrious professors Serge Peretti and Attilio Labis entrusted him with the responsibility of teaching some of their dance classes. From then on, Dreyfus found his new passion for teaching. He obtained his Diplome d’État, then his Certificate d’Aptitude and remains to date the youngest graduate teacher in France.
Alongside his career at the POB, he performed with his privileged partner, the danseuse étoile Françoise Legrée, many duets from the classical repertoire. He choreographed for her several pieces including "The Death of Yseult", from the opera Tristan and Yseult, presented at the Opera Bastille in 1998.
Dreyfus continued his career as a guest teacher with numerous choreographic institutions including the National Opera of Rome and Paris Opera Ballet. He co-founds the Vanessa Feuillatte Dance Academy in Bordeaux, where he remained the Pedagogical Director for one season. In September 2017, he opened his own school in Paris. "Le Cours de danse Arnaud Dreyfus". Some of his students are now members of large institutions such as the le Conservatoire national Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris, the school from La Scala di Milano, the Royal Ballet School of London or the European School of Ballet - Jean-Yves Esquerre, to which he has been affiliated since 2019.
Anita Young MBE (teaching on Thursday afternoon)
Anita trained at The Royal Ballet School and joined the Company in 1968. After an exciting performance career, she worked with prestigious vocational schools and colleges including: The Royal Ballet School, West Street School, London Studio Centre and Central School of Ballet.
Anita progressed into a career in freelance teaching, coaching, choreography and dance education. In 2023 alone, Anita taught in 7 countries including New Zealand, South Korea and the US.
