bbodance Scholars Scheme
The bbodance Scholars Scheme is a subsidised scheme open to talented students of bbodance Registered Teachers and Associate Members. Students attend fortnightly Sunday classes in Classical Ballet or Jazz, taught by some of the UK's most respected teachers. The programme is a fantastic opportunity to develop artistry, technique and work alongside other passionate dancers from across the UK.
We are incredibly grateful to the Espinosa Memorial Fund who have supported this scheme for many years and continue to do so this year.
The Schemes
Please note:

All fees are inclusive of a non-residential place at Scholars Weekend and can be paid for in instalments.

Students can audition for, and be accepted to, both Classical Ballet and Jazz Schemes.

Grades achieved are recommendations only - you can use your and your teacher's judgement about which scheme is right for you.
Junior Ballet
An inspiring introduction to the scheme, Junior Ballet is recommended for students who have achieved a Distinction in Grade 2 Ballet. Students will dive into technique classes, explore exciting repertoire and learn body conditioning fundamentals to support their training. Classes are accompanied by a pianist.

Birmingham Royal Ballet Studios, Birmingham: 10am - 12pm
Mentors in Ballet Education, Burnley: 11am - 1pm

Mid Ballet
Mid Ballet is a stepping stone between the Junior and Senior Schemes and is recommended for students who have achieved a Distinction in Grade 4 Ballet. Students will develop their technique, artistry and discover iconic repertoire, as well as practice body conditioning fundamentals to support their training. Classes are accompanied by a pianist.

Birmingham Royal Ballet Studios, Birmingham: 12:15pm - 2:45pm

Senior Ballet
Senior Ballet is designed to challenge students and support their vocational training, and is recommended for students who have achieved a Distinction in Intermediate Foundation Ballet (or Graded equivalent). Students will develop their technical ability, artistry and discover iconic repertoire, as well as have focused time for Pointe work. Classes are accompanied by a pianist.

bbodance Headquarters, London: 2pm - 5pm

Jazz
Students will develop their technical ability, creativity and explore amazing choreography from iconic shows and professionals, as well as practice body conditioning fundamentals to support their training. The Jazz Scheme is suitable for students aged 13+ who have taken a Grade 4 exam in Jazz, or an equivalent genre (such as Modern).

The Scheme is open to all students of bbodance Registered Teachers and Associate Members, entry to the Scheme is via audition. We encourage anyone with a love and passion for dance to audition. Even if you haven't yet achieved the recommended Grade, or if your school does not enter exams, you are welcome to audition.
Students can audition in Birmingham or London, regardless of the Scheme they are auditioning for. You can also audition via video if you are unable to attend in-person - see details on the audition pages below.
Please note: Burnley audition places are for students auditioning for the Burnley Junior Ballet scheme only.
