Head of Membership (Maternity Cover)

The Head of Membership is responsible for growing membership numbers and liaising with the membership, nurturing partnerships and facilitating community functions across the organisation. This involves driving communications with all stakeholders and target audiences, nationally and internationally, combined with the promotion of existing events and the development of future events on a national and international basis. This role is a pivotal one in delivering the current 5 year strategy plan that takes the organisation towards its centenary in 2030.

The Head of Membership is responsible for recruitment, retention and engagement strategies, focussing on the delivery or events, products and services which offer bbodance Teaching and Student Members the support they need from their membership organisation. Working hours: We envisage this to be a full-time role but we are happy to consider flexible working arrangements. Please indicate on your application if this is something you would like the recruitment panel to consider.  

Hybrid working is offered with a regular pattern of days to be agreed.

​

One regular office day will normally be Tuesdays to facilitate work on Committees and to ensure availability to present to the Board of Trustees a necessary.

The induction period, to be agreed, will be fully office based.

Overtime is not paid but discretionary TOIL is offered.

​

Contract:        FTC – 12 month initial term with the potential to extend up to 15 months.

Location:        bbodance, Ensign House, Battersea Reach Juniper Drive, London, SW18 1TA and                        remote/ WFH hybrid.

Salary:            £40,000 - £45,000 per annum, based on experience

Holiday:          25 days plus bank holidays per year

Start Date:      The start date for the appointment is from September 2026 with interviews commencing immediately.  With this in mind, we encourage prompt applications.
