May 16th 2025 marks 95 years of bbodance, formerly known as the British Ballet Organization. This is an incredible milestone and we are so grateful to our members and friends who have supported the organisation over the years. Your amazing work continues to inspire teachers and dance students around the world!

A message from Brenda Last OBE, President of bbodance
"Wishing bbodance a very happy 95th birthday!
It is simply amazing to think that the organisation I first came to know in 1957 is 95 years old!!
I first came into contact with the British Ballet Organization (as it was known then) when I was dancing with the first regional company, Western Ballet Theatre. We were to be based in Bristol where Muriel Carpenter was a prominent BBO teacher. Through this connection, Eddie Espinosa offered us rehearsal space at BBO’s home, Woolborough House in Barnes, which was simply invaluable. The company went from strength to strength and went on to become Scottish Ballet! I have never forgotten the kindness and generosity of Eddie Espinosa, who embodied the friendly, family-based ethos that still exists today within the organisation.
These wonderful qualities live on and I am so proud to be President of bbodance all these years later."
