We recently spoke to bbodance Patron Brandon Lawrence about how he's been getting on in Switzerland, since joining Ballett Zürich in 2023. From a bbodance student, Scholar and completing our Level 5 teaching course, Brandon has had an incredible journey and continues to inspire us with his amazing career. Read on to learn about his latest updates...

Brandon has also created roles in works by Cathy Marston, Brain Arias and Mthuthuzeli November.
Most recently he’s danced the role of Escamillo in Carmen by Mats Ek, during this process Ballett Zürich worked directly with Mats and his wife Ana Laguna who created the role of Carmen.

At the end of the 24/25 season Brandon was awarded the friends of Ballet Zürich Dance Prize, an award voted by the generous friends of Ballett Zürich.
Throughout the last two years Brandon has also been able to guest with Cape Ballet Africa, dance in Havana’s ballet festival season and be invited back by Carlos Acosta to dance The Sleeping Beauty alongside Céline Gittens in Birmingham Royal Ballet’s recent tour to Japan.

Join us in congratulating Brandon on these fabulous achievements, and from all of us at bbodance HQ we wish him the best for all that's still to come!
