Take The Stage: The bbodance Competition  

We are thrilled to welcome you to the bbodance competition, Take the Stage. Last year’s event was a huge success and we can’t wait to see what our talented students and teachers come up with this year!

Our competition has 2 rounds:

ROUND ONE - online video entries

Enter by submitting a video of your routine. This can be pre-recorded from a previous event or created especially for this competition. Why not enter a routine you already have, it couldn't be easier to enter!

The entries will be judged by our specialist panel and the top entries will be invited to our LIVE final...

The judges viewing the submissions are:

• bbodance Vice President, Sir David Bintley CBE (Former Principal Dancer and Resident Choreographer at The Royal Ballet and Former Director of Birmingham Royal Ballet)

• bbodance Patron Brandon Lawrence (Former Principal at Birmingham Royal Ballet, current Soloist at Ballet Zürich)

• bbodance Patron Robert Parker (Artistic Director of Elmhurst Ballet School)

• Rosanna Bates (2024 Take the Stage Judge. Performance credits include Mamma Mia, The Wind in the Willows, Les Misérables, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (UK and Ireland Tour)

ROUND TWO - the live final

The top video entries will be invited to perform their routines LIVE in our final, held at Elmhurst Ballet School on April 15th, during Dance Days 2025 - https://www.bbo.dance/dancedays

We have a panel of incredible judges lined up to watch the final and crown a winner...more to be announced soon!

Entry requirements:

• You must be associated with a bbodance Registered Teacher or Associate Member.

• You must be between the ages of 6 and 18.

• Videos must be between 1 and 4 minutes.

• Entries can be solo, duet, trio or group performances.

• The rest is up to you!

How to enter:

• Register via the online form.

• In your confirmation email, there will be instructions of how to upload your video submission.

You can enter multiple routines but please use ONE FORM PER ENTRY.

The First Entry is £15.

If you would like to enter multiple times, you can do so at a reduced rate of £5 per Additional Entry.
