Know Your Movement ABCs!

In this practical workshop you will explore the basic elements of movement based on Ann Hutchinson Guest’s Movement Alphabet®, which she called ‘the ABC of movement’. With an understanding of the basic elements of movement, you will be able to break dance movement down into its component parts more easily which can help with teaching new movement or syllabus material, communicating movement intention and giving students feedback.

This workshop will begin by learning the Movement Alphabet® and with an understanding of our movement ABCs, we will explore how the basic elements of movement can be used to teach and improve dance technique, performance skills and creative dance making in any dance genre.

This course will be run by the wonderful Shelly Saint-Smith (BBO Head of Teaching Qualifications) and you will earn six hours of CPD.
