Choreography Workshop with Sarah Toner

Students, join us for an incredible opportunity to be taught by the wonderful Sarah Toner this February half term!

Develop your technique, be a choreographer for the day and make new friends!

You will start the day with a Ballet class to warm up, gaining some useful tips on how to improve your technique. Next, you will be exploring Pointe Work and strengthening exercises at the Barre. Finally, you will learn a part of Sarah's own unique choreography, focussing on the theme of love for Valentine's Day! You will have the opportunity to put your choreographer's hat on and progress this further by adding your own dance movements and creative flair, ending with a mini showing for parents and guardians! The classes will also be accompanied by a live pianist to really enhance the artistic experience.

Open to all students aged between 12 and 14, studying at least Grade 5 (or equivalent). You don't need to be a bbodance member to sign up - it's open to all aspiring young dancers!

Students will need to bring their own packed lunch and the day will run from 10am - 4pm.

About your tutor

Sarah began her career with The National Ballet of Portugal before moving back to the UK to join London City Ballet. 

Then, after several years as a freelance performer, she joined the Birmingham Royal Ballet for 2 years before heading back to New York for her final dance performances at La Mama Theatre. 

Sarah has over 30 years of teaching and performing experience; she ran her own school in North London for 15 years and now coaches dancers up to and including Company level. She is a graduate of The Royal Ballet School's Professional Dancers Teachers' course and has taught regularly at Rambert School since 2013.
