Introducing our Scholars for 2025-26!

We are excited to see over 60 passionate dancers join the bbodance Scholars Scheme for the 2025-26 year. Our Scholars will enjoy fortnightly classes in Classical Ballet and Jazz, developing artistry, technique and professional skills they can carry with them through their dance journeys and beyond.

The Scheme has seen numerous wonderful names amongst the faculty, including bbodance President Brenda Last OBE and bbodance Artistic Director Anita Young MBE who is still a faculty member today! We have also followed the paths of alumni, many going on to train at prestigious vocational colleges and enjoy incredibly successful careers both in and out of the dance industry. Brandon Lawrence being one, who is currently Soloist for Ballet Zurich and former Principal at Birmingham Royal Ballet. Brandon is even a bbodance Patron!

We are fortunate to have partnerships with brilliant organisations who support our Scholars Scheme. We are delighted that our sustainable uniform supplier Dansez will once again be supporting the scheme. Each year Dansez generously fund a place on the scheme, helping young dancers continue their training. Scholars and bbodance students can enjoy the range of dancewear Dansez has to offer, including examination uniform and our Scholars range. All items are handmade in Kent using Econyl®, a fabric derived from nylon waste such as fishing nets and ocean plastic.

For the 2025-26 Scheme, we introduced 2 new groups – Mid Ballet in London and Senior Ballet in Birmingham! Meaning we now have 6 schemes for students to enjoy.
