Founded in 1930 by Edouard Espinosa and Eve Kelland, the British Ballet Organization began with a vision of inspiring excellence in dance education. Maintaining this ethos, we continue today as an organisation that offers multi-genre dance syllabi and training to teachers and students across the world. For over 25 years we have been regulated by the UK Government as an Awarding Organisation for our dance examinations and teaching qualifications.

We believe dance is for everyone and can allow individuals to flourish. Our passionate team welcomes diversity and strives to create accessible dance opportunities for all.
We are fortunate to have Patrons who embrace our values and inspire our members. We recently welcomed Joseph Powell-Main to join the organisation as a Patron, whose vision is to develop inclusivity and diversity within our syllabus and the wider industry.
We offer a range of membership options with something for everyone so if you are a teacher, student or someone who just loves dance there is something for you! As a charity our goal is to be inclusive and as an Awarding Organisation we strive to be recognised as a global leader in dance education.
