Student Membership
Anyone under the age of 18 can become a Student Member with BBO, regardless of affiliation with a BBO school or BBO Registered Teacher.
BBO Student Members receive:
• Discounts on BBO Examination Grades 6-8 or Vocational (all genres)
• Discounts on BBO events, merchandise and facility hire
• A regular e-newsletter to keep up to date with all things BBO

The Scholars Scheme
Develop artistry, technique, creativity and performance skills.

The BBO Scholars Scheme is open to students of BBO Registered or Associate Teachers; students are required to audition for a place on the Scheme. Scholars attend fortnightly classes in Classical Ballet or Jazz with some of the UK’s most respected dance teachers.
​
At the end of the scheme, we host Scholars Weekend. This event is a chance for our Scholars to come together in Birmingham, take classes with industry professionals and perform what they have learned throughout the year for parents, guardians and teachers.
​
At Scholars Weekend, various prizes are awarded to students who have worked particularly well throughout the scheme. We can’t wait to see what talent our next intake of Scholars will bring.

Making exams enjoyable
We are proud to offer examinations in a variety of genres and levels to enable all students to access exams in a way that suits them.
Not only are they a measurement of a dancers’ progress but exams also build confidence, support the learning process and provide students with a sense of achievement.
​
Our examinations are recognised by Ofqual and Qualification Wales, as well as being supported by a rigorous Quality Assurance Framework. Our higher-level exams even carry UCAS Tariff points, contributing towards University and Higher Education applications!

CPD
We are committed to supporting all dance teachers to develop their skills and enhance their knowledge. Our CPD courses are held throughout the year across the UK; a lot of our courses are also livestreamed or available to watch via recordings.
Masterclasses
Sign up to our masterclasses, taking place across the UK. These masterclasses are open to all dancers but BBO Members receive a discount.
